This Cookbook Turns Couples’ Indecisions Into Delicious Recipes

“Recipe Therapy” tackles one of the most common cooking dilemmas with first-of-its-kind cookbook, filled with humor and craftsmanship. “What do you want to eat?” is a frequent source of frustration for couples. Unfortunately, answers like “I don’t care,” “I don’t know,” or the ever-annoying “Whatever,” leave partners hungry, or, worse, hangry.

To address this issue, London-based hot sauce brand Two Hot Asians introduces Recipe Therapy — a cookbook designed to settle this beef once and for all. The cookbook is a humorous and playful answer to every non-answer. Featuring 16 different responses turned into recipes, “Anything” becomes “Anything Bagel”, “Hmmm” a “Hmmmus & Halloumi” recipe, and “Not Sure” transforms to “Not Sure If This Is What You Want But We’re Going To Have Vegetarian Stir-Fry Anyway.”

Filled with quirky and vibrant illustrations of the dishes, they are complemented by Two Hot Asians’ sambal and their two chili mascots. The book’s humorous and witty writing doesn’t take itself too seriously, but the recipes are crafted with a serious commitment to flavour. Timed perfectly for Valentine’s Day — Two Hot Asians hope that the book will become a useful and playful guide in the kitchen. The secret sauce? Hot sauce. “We realised indecisive answers to a simple question was a universal issue in the kitchen, so we wanted to find a playful yet practical solution,” says Oscar Gierup.

“With Recipe Therapy, we were able to work very hands-on and quickly go from idea to production, which was incredibly fun and freeing,” Kristina Samson completes. Behind the project is LOVESOME, a creative collective and side project set out to help independent brands get seen. It’s led by creatives Oscar Gierup, Kristina Samson and Hampus Elfström. The trio brings a combined experience from Droga5, Wieden+Kennedy, Forsman & Bodenfors, TBWA\Media Arts Lab, and more.
